PPSR go-live date delayed

21 May 2018

As you know, we’ve been working on the replacement PPSR system and you have been invited to take part in the PPSR website training sessions.

As you would expect, as we near the go-live lockdown weekend, we increase the rigour of our project assurance and governance activities to make sure that we are fully comfortable with delivering such an important system.

The process of migrating 9 million financing statements with an associated 300 million versions has been far more complicated than forecasted. Data migration has been a key factor that has impacted the project, to the point where we realise that it is not prudent to proceed with the current planned go live date of 2nd July.

We are also extending the go-live to allow the API community sufficient time to develop and test their product against the new API.

As the PPSR system plays an important role in the New Zealand economy, and MBIE does not want to risk the integrity of your experience as you transition to the new system, we have decided to delay the go-live date.

The delay in go-live of the new system does not impact the availability of the PPSR register, i.e. the register will continue to be accessible on the current platform.

We will be in touch with an update on the 31st May.

Note, the revised go-live is likely to be early in the fourth quarter of this calendar year. We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause.

We will confirm new training dates in due course. In the meantime, if you have registered to attend training in May or June, please make sure you remove this from your schedule.
